How do I resize a photo to exact pixel dimensions?
Open PhotoFit, switch to the Resize tab, enter your target width and height in pixels, upload your photo, and click Download. Your file is resized entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Does resizing a photo reduce its quality?
Scaling down (making smaller) preserves quality well. Scaling up (making larger) can introduce blurring — this is a fundamental limit of digital images. PhotoFit uses high-quality Lanczos-style resampling to minimize quality loss.
Can I resize a photo and compress it to a specific KB at the same time?
Yes. PhotoFit's Resize & Compress tab lets you set pixel dimensions AND a KB target in one step — perfect for exam portals that require both a specific size and a file size limit.
What file formats can I resize?
PhotoFit accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP images. Output is available as JPEG or PNG. For the smallest file size after resizing, use JPEG output.
Is there a file size limit for uploaded photos?
Practically, no — photos up to 50 MB process fine in modern browsers. Since files never leave your device, there is no server-side upload limit.
How do I resize a photo for an Indian passport?
Indian passport photos must be 2×2 inches (200×200 px at 100 DPI, or 600×600 px at 300 DPI). Upload your photo, set dimensions to 600×600, and download. Most portals also require the file under 50 KB — use PhotoFit's compress tool after resizing.
